Broken Phone

I was in my backyard climbing rock cliffs.  I had dropped my phone a bunch of times, but it hadn’t broken yet.  While I was on the cliffs, I dropped it, and it fell on a ledge below me.  I thought that, this time, it would be broken.  I was relieved to see the light go on when I picked it up, but then I noticed that the screen was cracked.  A clear liquid came out of it and leaked onto the back of my left hand and burned me.  I ran inside my house with the phone, being careful not to get any more gunk on my hands.  I showed my dad that my phone was broken, and he told me that was too bad because I wasn’t getting another.

Then I was driving my mom’s car to camp.  While I was driving, the functions of the brake and the gas were getting all wonky.  Sometimes the break would make it go and the gas would make it stop, and sometimes it would be normal.  It kept switching back and forth.  I thought I should pull over, so I tried to, but when I tried to park, the car kept moving.  I tried to put the emergency brake on, but it was wobbly and it wouldn’t stay in place.  When the car finally stopped, I got out.  I was in the parking lot of camp.  I looked at the car, and it had three flat tires.  I felt really badly for totaling my mom’s car, and I was also worried because I needed a way home.  Evan and his mom showed up in big pick-up truck and offered to drive me home.  The truck had a backseat and a tan interior.  Evan kept trying to talk to me, but I was in a really bad mood, so I wasn’t talking or listening much.
